Nonpartisanship Policy

The League of Women Voters of Greater Grand Forks  is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. We take action on public policy positions established through member study and consensus. As an organization, we never support or oppose any political party or candidate.

 

Those serving on the Board of Directors for LWV of Greater Grand Forks have the freedom to participate in the political party of their choice. However, any LWV board member holding the title of President or Vice President may not serve as President / Vice President; Chair / Vice Chair of any political organization while serving their term.

Should a board member need to resign to engage in partisan political activity, that board member will be allowed to remain on the board, as a member in another less prominent role.
