Legislative Priorities

During ND Legislative Sessions, our advocacy volunteers track bills, watch committee hearings, and write testimony. Protecting the right to vote was our top priority in 2025.

2025 Legislative Priorities

We continued our work of defending democracy and protecting voting rights in the 2025 Legislative Session. Our legislative priorities were:

  1. Voting Rights

  2. Transparency and Ethics

  3. Campaign Finance

In the 2023 session, we tracked 39 voting and election-related bills, and in 2025, we tracked over 60 bills.

Advocacy Volunteers

We had 4 core advocacy team members during the 2025 Legislative Session plus volunteers who supported us by doing research, watching committee hearings, and submitting letters to the editor. Get involved in our work next session by emailing us at nodaklwv@gmail.com.

Taking Positions on Bills

Our Advocacy Team evaluates bills based on adopted League positions found in the League's Impact on Issues. If a bill is consistent with these positions, the League can support it. If it is inconsistent, the League can oppose it. If there are no relevant positions, the League cannot address the bill.
