First Friday: The War on Voting

Date: Friday, January 6, 2012
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Location: Sons of Norway, 722 2nd Ave, Fargo, ND
Topic: The War On Voting
Speaker: Dr. Barbara Headrick

Our schedule has changed slightly and Dr. Barbara Headrick will be presenting "The War on Voting" at the Sons of Norway at noon on Friday, Jan. 6th.
The topic of redistricting will be featured on February's First Friday (2/3/2012).

MSUM Professor of Political Science and LWVRRV Co-President Barbara Headrick will discuss voter id laws, attacks on early voting and the phony charges of rampant voter fraud that are threatening the ability of millions of eligibility voters to exercise their constitutional right. These laws have even led to the statewide League in Florida to stop registering voters due to fear of penalties for false registrations or delays in turning in registration forms. This issue strikes at the core of the mission of the League of Women Voters and should be a concern for all citizens. Voting is a right not a privilege.
